Q: What do I need to bring?
A: We provide gear, shelter, chairs (for up to 4 people), and bait. Any extra chairs, tents, sleeping bags, food, or drinks that you need for the duration of your trip should be packed and ready to go. It can be difficult to get food, drinks, or supplies from our locations once we get started so prepare as best as possible!
Q: Do I need a fishing license?
A: YES! Everyone in the party who plans on reeling in a shark will need both a fishing license and the shore-based shark permit (free). For Florida residents, the 1 year shore-line only license is free. For non-Florida residents, there are three licenses to choose from. Non-Resident 3-day ($17), Non-Resident 7-day ($30), and Non-Resident Annual ($47). The shore-based shark permit is still free for non-Florida residents. The shore-based shark permit requires a breif course to be completed. The course is very easy and takes roughly 10 minutes. After completing the test you will be given your certificate and the code you need in order to add the shore-based shark permit to your fishing license. We cannot fish until those who plan to in the group have their licenses and permits. However, if you do not acquire them prior to meeting with our guides, you can use your phone once you are there to get them very quickly.
Q: How many people can I bring?
A: The more the merrier! There is no limit on the number of guests you can bring with you. However, it may be a good idea to figure out who in the group should have priority to reel in a shark regardless of party size.
Q: Are we guaranteed to catch a shark?
A: Although our guides wish we could guarantee massive sharks every time, fishing just does not work that way. However, we do offer what we call a one shark "guarantee" where if we do not send you home with bragging rights of at least one awesome catch, your next trip with us is 50% off. We understand that trips without catches are disappointing and our guarantee policy is in place for our clients to give us another try, because when working with wild animals it is hard to guarantee anything. SOFLO does not profit from second-chance trips as the policy is strictly for strengthening the client-company relationship.
